Job Description
Materials Lead for client projects, specializing in materials selection, corrosion, cathodic protection, coatings, RBI, materials quality, and failure investigations, ensuring compliance, reliability, and safety across offshore, subsea, and pipeline assets.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure contractor compliance with materials, corrosion, codes, and standards.
  • Review corrosion philosophies, CRAs, RBI, PIMS, and integrity strategies.
  • Lead materials selection and corrosion/inhibitor qualification.
  • Approve coatings and cathodic protection systems.
  • Develop and maintain client materials specifications and standards.
  • Manage technical queries, deviations, NCRs, and material issues.
  • Lead metallurgical investigations, RCA, and new material/mill qualifications.
  • Support design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, criticality assessments, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure regulatory, safety, environmental, and international code compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials/Science Engineering.
  • 8+ years’ Materials & Corrosion experience in oil & gas, including FEED and mega-scale offshore EPC.
  • Led 2+ major offshore FEED/EPC projects through commissioning.

Skills and Competencies
  • Expertise in materials, welding, manufacturing, inspection, coatings, corrosion, and RBI.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven technical leadership, project execution, and process improvement skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience in mentoring, auditing, manufacturing/fabrication, and project reviews.
  • Membership in a recognized materials/engineering institution.
  • Relevant training in ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2, NDT, NACE, pipelines, topsides, and quality systems.
