Lead the management assessment, negotiation and resolution of major contractual claims arising from the Offshore contractors and LLI suppliers. Ensuring protection of Company interests and supporting timely and effective dispute resolution in alignment with project objectives and corporate governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise PMT on major claims, negotiations, and stakeholder coordination (Legal, Supply, Finance, etc.).
- Develop claims and dispute resolution strategies and action plans.
- Conduct meetings with contractors to review and discuss claims.
- Assess claims for entitlement, causation, and quantum; align responses with Legal and stakeholders.
- Provide input on claims management strategy, risks, and opportunities.
- Review correspondence and prepare Company position papers on potential claims.
- Ensure compliance with Company procedures, regulations, and applicable laws.
- Maintain and update the Master Claims Register for senior management.
- Support dispute resolution efforts to avoid arbitration or litigation.
- Prepare claims presentations, settlement documents, and governance materials for dispute closure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Business, Engineering, Law, Project Management, etc.).
- 8+ years’ experience, including 4+ years in Oil & Gas.
- Experience in supervisory or contractor/vendor oversight roles.
- Strong EPCI contracts and claims management experience.
- Proven record of resolving contractual disputes.
- Experience in mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
- Knowledge of Middle Eastern legal frameworks preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong written and spoken English proficiency.
- Knowledge of planning and cost tools (Primavera P6 preferred).
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle complaints and resolve issues effectively.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficient in standard office software/tools.
- Experience supporting mediation, arbitration, and/or litigation processes.
- Understanding of arbitration procedures (e.g., disclosure, pleadings, witness preparation, expert reports, legal coordination).
