Job Description
The Commissioning Lead (Preservation) is responsible for managing and supervising the preservation activities at Qatar Fabrication yard and Ras Laffan Industrial City of the  Offshore project.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure equipment is preserved, safe for use, and lead safety during walkdowns
  • Monitor contractor preservation activities and system database compliance
  • Coordinate with project teams to resolve preservation issues effectively
  • Verify preservation procedures are complete and obtain approvals for updates
  • Review supplier documents and integrate recommendations into procedures
  • Assess and improve existing preservation databases and record systems
  • Coordinate with teams to prevent preservation impact from ongoing activities
  • Liaise with OES to meet expectations and support smooth handover
  • Track and audit activities to ensure proper de-/re-preservation and records

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering
  • 8+ years in Oil & Gas projects, including 1+ year in a supervisory role
  • Proficient in reading P&IDs, datasheets, GA drawings, and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of contract compliance, codes, standards, and technical specs
  • Experience with LNG vendors (compressors, power generation, control systems, topsides)
  • Background in large-scale operating organizations (Operations, Projects, Subsurface)
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle: engineering, execution, pre-commissioning, commissioning, systems completion
  • Experience in corrosion, materials, mechanical, or related disciplines
  • Familiar with preservation-related activities (hydrotest, lifting, lay-up, load-out, ITPs, inspections, chemical handling)
  • Experience managing EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Strong understanding of stakeholder specifications and industry standards
  • Schedule- and milestone-driven mindset
  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of informed decision-making with stakeholder consultation
  • Offshore experience is an advantage

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; effective in project team environments
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Computer literate (MS Office and technical applications)
  • Able to coordinate with contractors and obtain required information
  • Experience in interface coordination, support activities, and documentation
