Job Description

Ensures marine and environmental compliance for offshore and nearshore LNG projects, supporting protection strategies across all phases and managing risks with a focus on sensitive ecosystems and regulatory requirements in Qatar.


 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws, permits, and offshore regulations
  • Support implementation of EMPs, marine protection plans, and SHES procedures
  • Monitor offshore/nearshore activities for environmental compliance
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and mitigation planning
  • Liaise with regulators and support permitting and approvals
  • Review contractor environmental documents and risk assessments
  • Track environmental KPIs and ensure accurate reporting
  • Support EIAs and baseline environmental studies
  • Ensure mitigation for marine biodiversity, water quality, and sediments
  • Participate in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or SHES-related field
  • Minimum 8 years’ SHES experience in Oil & Gas
  • Experience with operators, EPCs, contractors, or service companies
  • Strong knowledge of marine environmental management (offshore/coastal works)
  • Familiar with Middle East environmental regulations and permitting (Qatar preferred)
  • Experience in EIA, environmental monitoring, and compliance audits
  • Knowledge of international standards (e.g., ISO 14001, IFC, MARPOL)
  • Experience in contractor supervision and offshore execution

Skills and Competencies
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Strong understanding of marine ecosystems and protection measures
  • Knowledge of SHES systems and regulatory frameworks
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management
  • Able to work in multidisciplinary, multicultural environments
  • Proactive with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement
