Job Description
Oversee all Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities executed by the EPC Contractor at the fabrication yard in Karimun, Indonesia. The primary objective of this role is to ensure these critical operations are performed in strict accordance with established procedures, industry standards, and the project plan, thereby guaranteeing safe and effective project completion.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure system completion and commissioning meet NFPS COMP 3 project and handover requirements
  • Witness contractor activities; validate test/check sheets focusing on process systems and critical parameters
  • Participate in walkdowns; identify and resolve process-related technical issues
  • Oversee commissioning execution; ensure safe, compliant pre-commissioning to mechanical completion
  • Review EPC commissioning/operational procedures; verify operability, safety, and start-up readiness
  • Witness FAT/SAT; verify equipment performance, control logic, and record results
  • Monitor preservation activities; ensure system integrity and readiness for start-up
  • Capture and share commissioning lessons learned
  • Approve ITRs and ensure proper SCDB updates
  • Ensure redlines and accurate as-built documentation

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Oil & Gas commissioning
  • At least 3 years in PMT or supervisory roles on large-scale projects
  • Strong understanding of process systems commissioning activities
  • Minimum 1 year in a supervisory/oversight role (including acting roles or managing vendors/service personnel)

Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong safety leadership, HSE knowledge, and compliance in commissioning activities
  • Strong organizational, planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective decision-making and prioritization under pressure; strong technical and analytical ability
  • Deep understanding of process commissioning activities (leak testing, piping dry-out, rotating equipment, functional testing, HVAC)
  • Hands-on experience in systemization and SIMOPS with construction and operations
  • Extensive experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up on large EPC projects (yard-focused to minimize offshore rework)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with system completion tools (Hexagon/WinPCS preferred)
