Job Description

The Commissioning Lead (Telecoms/Cyber Security) oversees contractors during offshore and commissioning phases, ensures compliance, provides technical guidance, supports change management, approves procedures, and ensures readiness for handover to the OESS team.


 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review contractor documents/reports and attend key meetings
  • Evaluate technical proposals, deviations, and new technologies for compliance
  • Apply and share lessons learned across projects
  • Support qualification of new, non-approved suppliers
  • Assess contractor manpower and recommend adjustments
  • Help maintain schedule and develop recovery plans for delays
  • Witness work execution and sign off tests/checks
  • Verify accuracy of contractor progress reports
  • Participate in audits, report findings, and support corrective actions

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering
  • 8+ years commissioning experience in Oil & Gas, including supervisory/oversight roles
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, completions walkdowns, and PSSR
  • Expertise in telecom systems design, risk assessment, and compliance
  • Advanced skills in fibre optic and copper testing, analysis, and fault finding
  • Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN) and cyber security principles
  • Experience with radio systems, PAGA, CCTV, access control, and telephony commissioning
  • Ability to troubleshoot telecoms systems and support offshore/onshore operations
  • Knowledge of LNG/sour gas facilities and associated execution risks
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings (P&IDs, GA, datasheets) and procedures
  • Experience across project lifecycle: engineering, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up
  • Familiar with vendor equipment in LNG projects (compressors, power systems, control systems)
  • Experience working with contractors and large-scale operational organizations
  • Strong understanding of contract, codes, and standards compliance requirements
