Job Description
Lead the Contractor in the Compression offshore facilities layout and Piping design to ensure a safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Onshore Assets in accordance with established policies, procedures, instructions and schedule targets.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Comply with industry codes/standards; ensure safe access, escape routes, and hazard mitigation in offshore layouts
  • Maintain clear communication with all disciplines; align on scope, timelines, and shared deliverables
  • Distinguish greenfield (flexible design) vs brownfield (existing constraints, live operations, tie-ins)
  • Use 3D modelling to visualize layout, detect clashes, and improve constructability
  • Select corrosion-resistant materials; apply coatings, linings, and protection systems
  • Consider chemicals, temperature, pressure, and humidity in material selection
  • Balance cost vs performance; account for durability, maintenance, and fabrication ease
  • Perform stress analysis to ensure safety, integrity, and compliance under loads and temperature
  • Use analysis software to simulate conditions, identify weak points, and optimize design

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years total industry experience (offshore discipline)
  • Mandatory knowledge of piping layout
  • At least 5 years Brownfield experience in piping layout and design

Skills and Competencies
  • Greenfield experience in offshore layout design
  • Understanding of piping layout/design requirements (Greenfield)
  • Understanding of piping layout/design for Brownfield (retrofit & modifications)
  • Knowledge of piping tie-in requirements and considerations
  • Good understanding of piping design codes and standards
  • Understanding of stress analysis, report interpretation, and FIV/AIV importance
  • Understanding of material selection, compatibility, and environmental factors
  • Awareness of project priorities: quality, safety, schedule, and cost
