Job Description
The Commissioning Specialist I&C oversees and ensures all commissioning activities for field instrumentation and integrated control and safety systems (ICSS) during offshore platform fabrication and pre-commissioning. The role ensures EPC contractors comply with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements, delivering safe, timely, and compliant system handover.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review EPC commissioning deliverables for I&C systems to ensure readiness for testing and energization
  • Witness loop checks, calibration, logic verification, and functional testing per approved procedures
  • Verify proper installation, calibration, and setup of field instruments before commissioning
  • Ensure ICSS/DCS/PLC systems are fully configured and ready for operation
  • Validate loop integrity, wiring, grounding, and signal quality
  • Approve commissioning procedures, ensuring full coverage of interlocks, alarms, and safety logic
  • Conduct walkdowns to confirm compliance with drawings and hazardous area requirements
  • Lead cause & effect testing for ESD, F&G, and system interfaces
  • Support dynamic commissioning by monitoring signals and optimizing control performance
  • Witness FAT, SAT, and system integration tests, ensuring accurate implementation and documentation

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering
  • 8 years’ experience in I&C commissioning
  • 3 years in PMT or supervisory roles on large Oil & Gas projects
  • Offshore platform and topsides experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of instruments and ICSS systems, including DCS, ESD, F&G, and PLC interfaces

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong commitment to site safety protocols and procedures
  • EPC support experience in planning and execution phases
  • Excellent organizational, technical judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Adaptable to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities
  • Effective communication, influencing skills, and fluent in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced computer literacy
