Responsible for fabricating and assembling steel structures and piping components using welding, cutting, and shaping techniques, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and project requirements.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret drawings, P&IDs, piping isometrics, and specifications.

• Mark, cut, shape, and prepare metal components for welding or assembly.

• Select and operate welding equipment (oxy-acetylene, electric arc) and adjust parameters for proper fusion.

• Guide welding flames or electrodes to join metals; clean and smooth welded joints.

• Cut and shape steel plates, tubes, and angles using power shears, grinders, saws, and other tools.

• Bend, align, and assemble fabricated parts according to specifications.

• Perform brazing, soft soldering, and other joining techniques as required.

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions and assist field teams as needed.

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of fabrication hazards.

Qualifications:

• Completion of secondary education (12 years).

• Two years of technical training or apprenticeship in fabrication, with a recognized diploma.

• Eight (8) years of experience as a fabricator in a gas plant, refinery, or petrochemical environment.

• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficient in welding, cutting, and metal fabrication techniques.

• Ability to read and apply engineering drawings and isometrics.

• Knowledge of structural steel, piping, and various metal types.

• Strong understanding of safety practices in fabrication and construction.
