Job Description
Overseeing all lifting activities, site surveillance for the safe execution of lifting operations, develop appropriate rigging & lifting plans, review & revise plans submitted by Contractors as deemed appropriate prior to approval and assist CPLO as per his direction and requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all rigging and lifting activities in process and non-process areas to ensure safe execution.

  • Coordinate and supervise all rigging and lifting operations.

  • Ensure correct rigging and lifting techniques are applied at site.

  • Ensure compliance with CPLO-approved lifting plans, safety standards, and company policies.

  • Brief lifting teams on lifting plans, risk controls, and safe procedures before each operation.

  • Assist the CPLO as required.

  • Conduct site surveillance to verify safe lifting and rigging practices.

  • Maintain knowledge of relevant international lifting standards and equipment inspection requirements.

  • Be familiar with Qatar lifting regulations and safe rigging procedures.

  • Apply practical experience in rigging and lifting techniques.

  • Inspect contractor lifting equipment for acceptance within DEL facilities.

  • Develop, review, and approve non-routine lifting plans; perform rigging calculations.

  • Conduct Task Risk Assessments (TRA) for critical lifting and rigging activities.

  • Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses per company procedures.

  • Comply with company HSE policies and procedures.

  • Support on-the-job training for Qatari developees and monitor their progress.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (3-year course) or equivalent.

  • LEEA Appointed Person certification.

  • LEEA Diploma qualifications for lifting equipment inspection.

  • Valid Rigging Supervisor certificate from a DEL-recognized third-party provider.

  • Trained and proficient in AutoCAD for developing lifting plans.


Skills and Competencies
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, including 5 years in Gulf countries.

  • Strong command of English (speaking, reading, and writing).

  • Strong administrative and supervisory skills for managing lifting personnel and operations.

  • Capable and experienced in performing rigging activities.
