The Planning Lead is responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, and controlling schedules and sensitive cost data, consolidating and analyzing schedule and cost information, and providing cost reporting and improvement recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all project planning and scheduling activities, procedures, and controls.
- Coordinate EPC inputs to develop, validate, and improve project schedules.
- Ensure contractors execute effective planning, scheduling, and Advanced Work Packaging.
- Support Project Controls Gates and maintain EPC planning/scheduling procedures.
- Monitor progress, productivity, delays, impacts, and recovery plans.
- Assess and integrate schedule impacts of project changes.
- Evaluate contractor performance and support PMT in resolving execution risks.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or business administration. • 8 years’ experience in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry, with exposure in project controls specifically planning / scheduling management with 3 years supervisory experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Experience with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors in the oil & gas industry.
- Handles complex tasks independently, providing guidance and resolving issues proactively.
- Takes initiative to deliver timely, cost-effective outcomes with strong team and stakeholder awareness.
- Works autonomously within procedures, managing own workload and coordinating team efforts.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera (mandatory) and other scheduling tools, with strong computer literacy.
- Effective team player with strong collaboration skills.
