Operation Engineer responsible for safe operation, high-voltage switching, and maintenance coordination of LV/MV/HV AIS & GIS substations for a utility-scale solar power plant, in coordination with Kahramaa and in compliance with HSE and asset management standards.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and authorize HV switching operations at 220kV and 33kV in coordination with Kahramaa
• Obtain and maintain Kahramaa 220kV Switching Engineer authorization within 3 months
• Support planning and scheduling of preventive and corrective maintenance (SAP work orders)
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to LV/MV/HV technicians
• Operate and maintain 220kV GIS, 33kV AIS, power transformers, HVAC, fire water pumps, and F&G systems
• Prepare scopes of work, specifications, drawings, and BOQs for maintenance contracts
• Ensure full compliance with HSE, PTW, LOTO, JHA, and electrical authorization procedures
• Troubleshoot plant electrical issues and support RCA, FMEA, and reliability activities
• Manage contractor performance, release orders, and service entry sheets in SAP
• Support commissioning, handover, warranty administration, and system modifications
• Interface with Kahramaa for outages, system interruptions, and billing (import/export energy)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 10–12 years experience in power system operations and MV/HV maintenance
• Proven experience with LV/MV/HV AIS & GIS substations (220kV GIS mandatory)

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of power transformers, substations, and protection systems
• Hands-on experience with SAP PM preferred
• Ability to pass Kahramaa training and certification within required timeframe
