Job Description
Technical Authority for Nondestructive Testing (NDT) across all MP and NFPS projects, providing oversight, consultation, and technical review of NDT activities during tendering, assessment, inspection, upgrading, commissioning, and operation of all offshore and onshore equipment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and advise on NDT of critical materials for offshore and onshore fabrication and construction.

  • Ensure approved Quality Plans include proper NDT, inspection, and welding provisions per contract.

  • Support review and definition of NDT requirements for NFPS and Major Projects.

  • Develop and maintain NDT and welding inspection specifications and standards.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations on Inspection Testing Plans and commissioning procedures.

  • Establish criteria to monitor and assess Contractor NDT and welding performance.

  • Ensure compliance with contract specifications, industry standards, and shareholder practices.

  • Conduct technical audits, reviews, and inspections to assess NDT processes and performance.

  • Review non-conformances, technical queries, deviations, and product issues.

  • Oversee compliance with safety and environmental regulations for material use.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.

  • Minimum 8 years’ Oil & Gas Quality experience.

  • 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role.

  • NDT Level III certification (min. 8 years) in RT, UT, MT, and PT methods.

  • Welding inspector/engineering certification (min. 10 years).

  • Expert in NDT methods, techniques, procedures, and personnel qualification.

  • Strong knowledge of quality and inspection practices per API, ASME, ASTM, DNV, NACE, ISO standards.

  • Desirable experience with Major Operators and industries such as Nuclear, Aerospace, Structural, or Research.

  • Proficient in codes and standards relevant to Oil & Gas.

  • Solid understanding of project phases, engineering, execution, and technical process implementation.


Skills and Competencies
  • Strong technical leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experienced in mentorship, coaching, auditing, and project reviews.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration abilities.

  • Member of an international material science institution.

  • Trained in ISO9001, API Q1/Q2, ASNT NDT; proficient in relevant codes, specifications, and quality systems.
