Job Description

Serve as Technical Authority for Materials on all MP and NFPS Projects, ensuring technical quality, material processing, qualification, testing, and failure investigations throughout procurement, manufacturing, fabrication, delivery, installation, and land construction phases.


 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and update material specs and standards for MP and NFPS.

  • Provide technical guidance on material selection and design.

  • Oversee material quality during procurement, fabrication, and installation.

  • Select optimal materials for processes and components.

  • Ensure materials meet safety, performance, and quality standards.

  • Execute product trials using DoE principles.

  • Lead qualification of new mills and materials.

  • Conduct metallurgical and root cause investigations.

  • Review non-conformances and technical deviations.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Engineering.

  • 8+ years’ materials/metallurgy experience in oil & gas, including fabrication, manufacturing, or construction

  • 1+ year in a supervisory role.

  • Skilled in developing project materials requirements (selection, welding, coatings, corrosion, etc.).

  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards.

  • Experienced in all project phases from engineering to execution and delivery.


Skills and Competencies
  • Strong technical leadership, attention to detail, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience in mentorship and coaching.

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven experience in auditing and assessing fabrication, manufacturing, and project activities.

  • Member of a recognized international materials institution.

  • Trained in ISO 9001/API Q1/Q2, NDT, pipeline and equipment materials, NACE corrosion, and quality system improvement.
