The HUC Structural Lead directs offshore hook-up and commissioning, ensuring compliance with structural standards, lift plans, inspections, and testing. The role oversees contractors, manages procedures and redlines, supports change management and asset handover, and serves as focal point for lifting equipment certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review critical EPC contractor documents, reports, and attend workshops/meetings as required
- Assess technical proposals, deviations, exceptions, and new technologies for compliance
- Apply and share lessons learned across projects and EPCs
- Support qualification of new suppliers not on the approved vendor list
- Evaluate contractor manpower and recommend adjustments; provide backfill when needed
- Monitor project schedule, support milestone delivery, and develop recovery plans for delays
- Witness contractor work, sign off test/check sheets per project requirements
- Verify accuracy of EPC contractor progress reports
- Participate in reviews and quality audits; report findings and corrective plans
- Oversee all lifting operations, including planning, rigging, execution, equipment certification, and personnel competency
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
- 8+ years in Oil & Gas projects, including supervisory/oversight roles
- Strong knowledge of HUC, completions, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews
- Skilled in datasheets, GA drawings, procedures, and structural design standards
- Experience in project execution, commissioning, operations, and systems completion
- Familiar with contract compliance, offshore/onshore facilities, and yard operations
- LNG vendor and equipment experience (compressors, power generation, control systems)
- Knowledge of sour gas/LNG risks and start-up support to operations
