The role oversees Mechanical and HVAC construction for Topsides, including planning, execution, reviews, inspections, and compliance with technical, safety, quality, and schedule requirements. It advises on non-conformances, supports the PMT with technical expertise, supervises contractors, and ensures delivery meets company standards within a high-pressure, large-scale project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve Mechanical & HVAC scopes, procedures, and method statements for safe, effective execution.
- Monitor design changes, deviations, and NCRs; ensure compliance with MOC and safety standards.
- Oversee EPC Contractor, vendors, and subcontractors; report progress and participate in construction meetings.
- Review EPC Contractor’s Mechanical & HVAC designs for compliance with codes and contract.
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, and third parties; ensure adherence to Qatargas rules and PTW procedures.
- Support design, installation, start-up, and commissioning of Mechanical & HVAC systems.
- Manage interface between Engineering, Operations, and Startup teams.
- Provide technical support to procurement and monitor EPC deliverables.
- Report progress and issues to Head of Construction; review contractor plans and potential change orders.
- Ensure inspection compliance, QA/QC, NCR resolution, and proper material handling.
Qualifications:
- Diploma/HNC/Vocational qualification in Engineering/Science.
- 8+ years in Mechanical & HVAC offshore projects, incl. 1+ year supervisory role.
- Specialist/superintendent experience in Mechanical & HVAC.
- Knowledge of design codes, standards, and safety.
- Experience in large operating organizations and LNG/sour gas projects.
- Strong EPC Contractor and vendor interface experience.
- Effective in multicultural environments.
