Job Description

The Marine Vessel Assurance Specialist is the Company’s primary liaison for all vessel-related matters, representing the Company onboard during subsea operations. They ensure vessel compliance, safety, and crew standards, resolve inspection findings, secure Marine Unit Acceptance, manage offshore teams, and lead incident response in challenging environments.


 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work independently within marine procedures, plans, and budgets, contributing to improvements.

  • Monitor contractor vessel performance for compliance with specifications and procedures.

  • Deliver on large CAPEX projects under pressure with accuracy and multitasking.

  • Coordinate with management, auditors, regulators, and stakeholders on marine issues.

  • Support planning, procedure review, and technical execution, resolving safety issues pre-work.

  • Develop SIMOPS documents and coordinate marine activities with project teams.

  • Create or update marine procedures to support project goals.

  • Show leadership, integrity, collaboration, and team focus.

  • Serve as Site Representative or Vessel Assurance Specialist during operations and inspections.

  • Attend safety meetings, toolbox talks, and share safety alerts.

  • Lead vessel emergency response, incident reporting, and investigations.

  • Audit vessel equipment, certifications, and personnel qualifications, closing findings.

  • Manage site queries and changes as marine focal point.

  • Perform daily vessel walk-throughs and maintain offshore activity records.

  • Oversee contractor closeout reports and compile lessons learned.

  • Work in a dynamic, expanding project environment.


Qualifications:
  • Master Mariner’s license (STCW II/2).

  • Minimum 10 years as Master Mariner, including 3 years offshore marine supervisory experience on diving vessels.

  • Extensive experience with vessels including Diving Support and DP2 transportation vessels.

  • Basic training/knowledge in marine inspection, lifting & rigging, IMCA DP2 operations, and STCW requirements.


Skills and Competencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

  • Strong technical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Skilled in coordination, influencing, and interfacing.
